Unity Through Performing Arts
60The reason
I am writing to everyone who will read, anyone who has a passion, or interest in art. I have had the privilege of being part of the great performing arts culture. Unfortunately it is not what it use to be, less and less youth are aware of the good this culture can do for their lives and are headed towards negative paths in their lives.
You have seen shows like "So you think you can dance" "Americas best dance crew" "Americas got talent" "American Idol" etc.
These are shows that give people hope but at the same time seem impossible for some to reach. I am a part of an organization called Odori 73 we promote POSITIVE outlook on life with a positive outlet for energy. Instead of promoting gangs, violence, drugs, and alcohol. We promote peace, love, art, unity, and respect. All through the love of our performing arts culture.
We have a vision to be able to put on shows for massive crowds, do master dance classes, speaking seminars, promoting positive energy. Unfortunately we can not afford to do this on our own.
I am writing here asking everyone to please help us fulfil this vision. We have dancers that have the talent, knowledge, drive. motivation, love, that we want to share with the world.
There are shows, competitions, opportunities all over the globe we want to bring people to but we can not afford to provide them with a means to travel we just work a normal job and still offer our love for the dance to everyone because it's who we are.
We are asking for donations we have a goal of $100,000.00 to reach, this will help fund performers to pay for studio time for rehearsal, flights, food, shows, and speaking seminars.
it may seem like a large goal but when you take into account all the expenses it takes to fly out multiple talent around the world it adds up.
Any donation even 1 to 5 dollars will help and will add up in the end.
You may make direct payments through pay pal for the cause
www.paypal.com and send to joshuagfx@aol.com
which is also my email and should you have any questions feels free to contact me.
Thank you,
Joshua Rodriguez

Personal experience
My request for help comes from a long career of over 11 years doing what i love to do. There were times when i had to go and get a "real job" when i was unhappy working 40+ hours a week at a warehouse, or behind a counter, etc. for some that is the environment they like to work in and that's great. But there are some of us who need to be free to explore our creative side, our artistic side.
It has been known for many that dance is pure artform to express ones feeling. Dance studios across the world have tons of students, but lets see how many students end up sticking to the passion of dance? how many students pick to go to the dance studio over peer pressure in school? how many parents can constantly afford a dance studio plus costumes, recidals, etc? There are alot of people who would love to find a living doing what they love EVEN if its just for a short while. I am interested in making something happen for talented individuals.
I would like to raise money and travel with the individuals, teaching classes, performing, speaking knowledge of the dance arts. Helping students understand positive things to do in life and not give into the streets that are so harsh.
If you feel this way please help me help others.
your contributions will help the lives of many many talented dancers, such talent should not go unseen.
You may contact me through email joshuagfx@aol.com and if you would like to make a donation to the cause please send through paypal to the email joshuagfx@aol.com I am paypal verified and i will answer any questions that you may have.
Thank you
Lets everyone be more involved!
Here is an update for everyone, I have spent about 5 days roughly advertising this post online and trying to make people aware, funny thing is that when i post about a joke, a game, or going to a club or party i seem to get alot more responses then when I post about helping out the youth, everyone seems to push it to the side. We are ignoring real issues in society and it's really not helping us at all. The more we ignore eachother the more problems will continue to grow. The internet is a powerful tool, and if used correctly it can really help make a difference. I need everyone out there to help pass along the messages even if you can only donate $1.00 imagine thousands and thousands of people who read this and want to help make a differece if they each donate $1.00 to the cause we can raise the funds to help others. We have received donations from some and I truly thank you for your support you have risen when you were needed. Please encourage your friends and family to help. You may think this has nothing to do with you but it has everything to do with everyone.
Do you have a child that takes dance class? have you ever been on vacation and saw street performers? have you ever taken the subway in New York and seen the Break Dancers? have you ever been to a circus show? maybe an opera? a ballet? Jazz Festival? Comedy show? Tv show? or even Movies? how about paintings? drawings? cartoons?
These are ALL PERFORMING ARTIST some happen to be more rewarding then others. Dancers are KNOWN to be struggling artist but yet takes a tremendous amount of talent, dedication, heart, and drive to aquire the skills. Lets reward those who have the passion for it. With the program I am supporting we can be sending artist out to reach out to the community performing, competing, TEACHING, and giving others and option and outlet to focus their energy into good things and positive things. Again for those who wish to help please make your donations through paypal, it's a very safe and secure method, just send it to joshuagfx@aol.com
Thank you!
